How this happened

BrainBoxIT Ltd (the company behind Filovera) has been building scan-first compliance software since 2018, under the brand Hovermarks Inspection. The model: stick a QR code on an asset, run the regulated inspection in the browser when someone scans it, generate a tamper-evident PDF that an auditor or insurer can verify on a public URL.

In 2024 the EU adopted the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). Textile was named as one of three priority sectors for the Digital Product Passport. The deadline for the first textile DPP categories landed somewhere around 2027. Every brand placing textiles on the EU market, including UK and third-country exporters, would soon need a DPP for every product.

We looked at what existed. Centric, Bamboo Rose, PTC FlexPLM covered enterprise apparel just fine, with five-figure annual contracts and assumed CAD pipelines. Below that (the SMB brands, contract manufacturers, resale labels, circular-economy startups) almost nothing existed at the price point and complexity these teams could actually deploy.

We'd already built the QR-per-asset engine, the multi-tenant audit log, the signed-PDF pipeline. Pointing that infrastructure at “QR per product” instead of “QR per asset” was a smaller leap than it looked. Filovera launched in 2026 as a separate brand so it could focus on textile DPP without confusing the Hovermarks Inspection conversation (which is still about lifting gear, fire safety, and OSHA paperwork).

What we believe

• Compliance shouldn't cost a procurement department you don't have.If onboarding takes a 6-month implementation contract, we've already failed the people we built this for.
• The proof layer is the product.Every passport edit is hash-chained in an append-only audit log. Customers viewing a passport see a verified-history badge. That's the core, not an add-on tier.
• Self-serve before sales call. Sign up, upload a CSV of SKUs, publish your first passport without anyone in our team having to be in the room. Talk to sales when you need custom contracts or an Enterprise SLA, not as the gate to a demo.
• Boring infrastructure, interesting workflow. UK-hosted Azure UK South + UK West backup. Microsoft Entra External ID for sign-in. Stripe for billing. Nothing exotic. The interesting bits are the parts your customers actually touch: the scan, the passport page, the verification.

The company

Filovera is a trading name of BrainBoxIT Limited, a UK software company registered in England and Wales (company number 11703272). Registered office: 6 Range Green, Portsmouth, PO2 8RE. The legal entity behind your contract, your invoice, and your DPA is BrainBoxIT, trading as Filovera.

The same team also runs Hovermarks Inspection (asset-side compliance for LOLER, fire safety, NFPA, OSHA contractors). Filovera and Hovermarks share infrastructure under the hood, but each is a self-contained SaaS subscription with its own sign-in, its own support inbox, and its own customer success process. You don't need to buy or know about Hovermarks to use Filovera.
